Results for 2015 Academy Sports + Outdoors Sun Bowl International Soccer Tournament June 8, 2015

The three-day Academy Sports + Outdoors Sun Bowl International Soccer Tournament concluded on Sunday evening at the Westside Sports Complex.

Over 130 teams ages six to 19 competed in over 200 games throughout the weekend.

“We are very grateful to all teams that participated in this year’s tournament,” Sun Bowl Association Executive Director Bernie Olivas said. “We are especially thankful to the teams that traveled from far to support this exciting event. The intensity and spirit in which teams played with is an example of the passion the El Paso community has for the sport of soccer. We’d like to thank all of our volunteers that came out to lend a hand, but most importantly the Sun Bowl Association would like Academy Sports + Outdoors for their continued support of this tournament."

Academy Sports + Outdoors, with two locations in the city, is in the seventh year of sponsoring the international affair that is open to all U6 to U19 boys and girls teams in the region. The competition ranges from recreational to competitive in every age group.

The Sun Bowl Association and Academy Sports + Outdoors were joined by the City of El Paso, the El Paso Parks and Recreation Department, the El Paso Youth Soccer Association and Fort Bliss to bring the highest level of competition to the children of El Paso.
