Michael Guerra is Vice President of Guerra Investment Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisory firm focusing on personalized portfolio and customized investment management for individuals, professional organizations, foundations, institutions, endowments and retirement plans. Prior to this, Michael served as the Chief Lobbyist and Vice President of Government Relations and Armed Forces for the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce. In this role, he advocated for pro-El Paso public policy at the Federal, State, County and City levels of government and was the staff lead to create the influential presentations that led to successful results of the expansion of Ft. Bliss, Texas after the Base Realignment and Closure hearings. He was also instrumental in building several Nationally recognized Workforce Development programs in partnership with the US Department of Labor, Johns Hopkins University, and the US Chamber of Commerce.
Guerra’s community involvement is extensive. He is a Founding Director and former President of Progress321, a regional leadership and professional development organization. He also serves on the board of The Hospitals of Providence East, the El Paso Chamber Foundation Board, as well as the Cubmaster of his childrens’ Cub Scout Pack. Michael previously served as two-time President of the Amigo Airsho, Chairman of Leadership El Paso, and as a board member of Court Appointed Special Advocates, FBI Citizens Academy and Creative Kids.
Guerra has been recognized with El Paso’s Breakthrough Leader Award, Sun Bowl President’s Award, El Paso’s Top Young Business Professionals, US Army’s St. Barbara’s Distinguished Civilian Award, and is a graduate of the US Army War College Distinguished Civilian Leadership Program.
Guerra is a proud El Pasoan. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where he received his Bachelor’s degree in business administration. Guerra earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.
