Kyra Hayes, daughter of Steve & Nancy Hayes, is a Freshman at New Mexico State University where she is continuing her education after completing her dual credit high school & associate’s degree in science from Trans Mountain Early College High School. Kyra served as the 2023 Rodeo Queen for the Southern New Mexico State Fair (SNMSF) where she represented the SNMSF at multiple community events, parades and rodeos. It was through her experience as Rodeo Queen that she realized how important providing positive role models is to our younger generation.
While attending Transmountain Early College, Kyra was an active JROTC member where she led the unarmed drill team as well as commanding the color guard at hundreds of events. Kyra was also a member of the yearbook staff and competed in UIL where she made it to regionals.
Kyra spends her extra time volunteering for multiple non-profit organizations to include, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, the Sun Bowl Association’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Float Building committee, Sun Bowl Game Day Committee and Operation Deploy a Dress which helps give free dresses to veterans and their families.
Kyra is looking for to serving as a Sun Bowl Princes, embodying grace, leadership, and community spirt while representing the Sun Bowl Association with dedication and enthusiasm.
