Anai Gomez, daughter of Maria Margarita Baca Gomez & Carlos Gomez, is an University of Texas at Austin UT High School graduate, and is currently a Junior Kinesiology major at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) working towards her goal of becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. Anai is a Think Neuro Research intern, where she is doing research to address barriers to accessing treatment by expanding tele-health services.
As a student at UTEP, Anai has been a Miner Ambassador, the Vice President of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Chapter Philanthropy Director, Diversity and Inclusion Chair for Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity. Ania is also a member of the Medical Professions Organization, Minority Association of Premedical Students, Collegiate Double T Health Professions Honor Society, Red Cross Club, UTEP Orange and Blue Spirit Crew, The National Society of Leadership and Success, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
When she is not busy with her internship, studies and organizations, she has spent her free time volunteering at The Rescue Mission of El Paso, The Humane Society of El Paso, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, the El Paso Center for Children, the El Paso Zoo, Project Move, Annunciation House, Medventure for Your Future at Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, and American Red Cross.
Anai is excited to share her experiences with the young girls in our community and motivate them to go after their goals as she believes every girl is a princess, no matter what they like or how they look.
